- 2/3 cup Unsalted butter ( 150 g )
- 3/4 cup Dark brown sugar ( 150 g )
- 1/4 cup Granulated sugar ( 50 g )
- 1 Large egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 cups All-purpose flour ( 250 g )
- 4 tbsp Cocoa powder ( 20 g )
- 1/2 tsp Baking powder
- 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Pecans (chopped) ( 55 g )
- 1/2 cup Milk chocolate chips ( 100 g )
Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and fragrant, then let it cool for 10 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, then mix until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
Add chopped pecans and chocolate chips, then mix until evenly distributed.
Cover the dough and chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
Scoop the dough into balls and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 13–15 minutes.
Remove from the oven, add extra chocolate chips on top, and let the cookies cool on the tray before serving.
- Always brown the butter for a richer flavor.
- Chill the dough to prevent spreading.
- Do not overbake; cookies continue to cook after removing from oven.
- Use good-quality chocolate chips for best taste.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
